Coffee addiction and withdrawal

Coffee addiction is ending, Yeah!

Coffee withdrawal day 4. My body is starting to feel better. I am moving better than I have in years. My body is more flowing like in high school when I was on the wrestling  and cross country teams.

Coffee withdrawal day 6: Without the coffee I get tired faster. Now I feel the need to take care of myself. I feel that I need to get enough sleep, eat properly, and exercise. When I was pumping coffee, I didn’t need to take care of myself, because I could just have more coffee. This is really a great step.

Caffeine Withdrawal – day 3

Caffeine withdrawal- day 1. Well, day one was hell. Splitting headache but I decided to stay with it. I slept for 3 hrs in the afternoon. I was really out of it, like being a space cadet. My wife was sick so I took her to the doctor and emergency room & I really did not have to concentrate too much. I lost my appetite too, which is good cause I also lost almost 2 pounds.

Caffeine withdrawal day 2: The headache was a little better, but still difficult to focus. Slept a hour in the afternoon and I was unfocused all day. Luckily I was attending to my wife, who thank G-d, was released from the hospital. Also did general chores that did not take too much concentration.

Caffeine withdrawal day 3: Not much of a headache. I able to think and function almost normally just a little slower than usual. I am calmer than when I drank lots of coffee and can see the bigger picture. I feel like life will start to be more fun.

I want to share a very interesting video with you which explains how caffeine actually effects the body.

I had never heard these things before so I looked up the author. Here are her qualifications:

Dr. Kendra Pearsall is a Naturopathic Medical Doctor specializing in weight loss. She received her B.A. in psychology from Western Michigan University, and her N.M.D. degree from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine — which is one of six CNME accredited 4-year naturopathic medical schools in North America.

Coffee Addiction & Recovery

Coffee addiction is still playing games with my life. I have been drinking less, about 3 cups per day and I end up not being effective or efficient for over 5 hrs a day, which is allot of time. I ask my self if its worth the trouble of stopping to drink coffee. coffee raises my blood pressure, makes me nervous and not relaxed and not flowing. I also don’t seem to see the big picture as well. However, I have got to get things done or else I’ll fall behind in my work and my other responsibilities. Anybody have any ideas how to kick coffee addiction?

Coffee Addiction and Recovery: Meanwhile, I Can Control My Coffee Addiction.

Yesterday, after acknowledging that I am addicted to coffee and having to work anyway in spite of it, I figured that there could be worse things.

Here are a few observations that I have made that help me keep the addiction under control.

  • The first two hours after drinking coffee have the strongest effect.
  • There is a drop in the effect after the first 2 hrs.
  • There is another drop in effect after the third hr.
  • There is another drop in effect after 5 hrs (which is when I loose it)
  • Scientific studies says that the effects last 8 hrs, but I don’t feel it.
  • A research study showed that women who drank more than 5 cups a day had an increased incidence of cancer.

Based on the above, my strategy to contol my coffee addiction is to drink coffee at 4-5 hr intervals. That’s 3-4 cups per day, which doesn’t over stimulate me.
